DMC is based in Youngs Cove on the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, with a satellite office in East River, Lunenburg County. DMC operates in modest circumstances with low overhead costs that do not impact on the quality of services delivered.

The expertise and services offered by DMC are primarily based on the education, employment and travel experiences of Mr. Murdoch. His past experience has resulted in an extensive network of collegial resources and he brings a focused, pragmatic approach to completing work with the resources available. He is detail oriented, organised and client centered, and possessed of exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

David Murdoch is a graduate of Dalhousie University with degrees in Mathematics (B.Sc. 1973) and Business (M.B.A. 1975). He has Certificates in Computer Science (1995) and Adult Education (1996) from Dalhousie and a Diploma in Community Economic Development (1999) from Saint Marys University. He is also a Cognitive Edge accredited practitioner.

Work experience has included:

Managing Partner - MurMac Marine Services – Partnership established and requiring day-to-day hands on management to conduct biological research by undertaking SCUBA herring spawning bed surveys including logistical coordination, sample collection and analysis, and financial reporting.

Founder and Operations Manager – Chebucto Community Net, a community based Internet provider in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Oversaw the sustainable development and management of a community ISP that served over 20,000 users. Involved in all business and technical aspects including promotion and marketing, software development and testing, customer service and problem solving.

Executive Director - Halifax Regional CAP Association – formed in 2000 by Community Access Program (CAP) sites in Halifax Regional Municipality. Responsibilities included overseeing operation of Job Search Services, a project that offers job search assistance, information technology assistance, and specialised workshops for the communities of HRM.

As well as undertaking SCUBA herring spawning bed surveys, David Murdoch has experience as an Engineering Technician, and as a Survey Technician for land and civil engineering surveys.
